Pays de Gex is home to 759 companies in its business parks or “ZAE” as we say in French. 104 of them employ over 10 members of staff. Approximately 500 employees work in these centres, the equivalent of 10% of the area’s total payroll. There are options if you want to set up your business here. Two prime commercial real estate options in Pays de Gex are the technology parks in Saint-Genis-Pouilly (on the border with Geneva) and Collonges for artisans.

Technology park, Saint-Genis-Pouilly

The business park is a few hundred metres from CERN’s main site. It stands out from the 16 business parks covering a total of 165 hectares in the local area.  

This 40ha business centre works with Switzerland and Europe. The technology park is home to companies setting a benchmark in their industries. They include AAA Advanced Accelerator Applications, part of the Novartis group and a global leader in nuclear medicine, and  Advantics, a tech company designing innovative electronics that has set up one of its French branches here. The business centre is also home to the Innogex and GexFab incubators supporting tech start-ups in a variety of industries. 

There is lots of commercial land available, with plots ranging from 2000m² to 15,000m². Pays de Gex Entreprises leases land to build on.

Pays de Gex Entreprises is based at the technology park and provides meeting rooms, offices and spaces specifically for starting up and creating businesses. The centre welcomes partners and services to steer you towards success. The new building isn’t a hotel for companies; it’s a meeting hub and workspace devoted to business creation. It also hosts companies from the start-up incubator and tech incubators.
